The College of Economics and Management Student Council brings you Youth Activation Summit 2019, a one-day seminar composed of plenary discussions, simultaneous workshop sessions, and concessionaires for senior high school and college students around CALABARZON and NCR. The talks and workshops are organized by the League of Youth Activation Summit Convenors (LYASC), students from the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

This year, Youth Activation Summit 2019 will focus on the theme: “Innovate or Die: Building Relevant Strategies to Connect in a Dynamic Economy”. The event will be held on October 12, 2019, 8 AM – 5 PM, at the Rural Economic Development - Renewable Energy Center (REDREC) Auditorium, Jose M. Capinpin, Los Baños Laguna.

Innovate or Die seeks to educate the youth with local professionals’ experiences, to develop their entrepreneurial and business core skills. The LYASC, aligned with this year’s theme, believes that through the exposure of the marketing realities of surrounding start-ups, and by creating a space for evaluation among professionals and its peers, this will guide the youth in building their own understanding of the key factors driving the Philippine’s dynamic economy. In turn, it will allow the youth to pursue and sustain their own entrepreneurial initiatives with social relevance.

Approximately 200 senior high school and college students are expected to attend the seminar, which includes a case competition wherein the students are given a limited amount of time to craft their proposal as a solution to the given situations of local start-ups. This activity aims to expand the students’ knowledge on different marketing strategies.

The proceeds of this event will go to the Basic Masses Integration in Laguna, co-organized by the College of Economics and Management Student Council. It is an activity for the UPLB students to be involved in understanding the living situations of the surrounding communities.
