Aside from The Hundred Islands and The Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag, Pangasinan has a lot to offer. Especially food places! Pangasinan is famous for its Bangus, Tupig and Puto but what are the other must-try food places when you're in Pangasinan?

Most healthy food are boring and bland but not at Healthy Gains located at Panaderia Antonio Building, JDV Road in Calasiao. This only proves that Pangasinan not just offer the best fresh seafood in town but also food choices without the after-guilt. Try their Tofu Bahn Mi served on a baguette perfect paired with Grab & Go Juices (Detox, Green Cleansing & Weight Loss) Their Cauliflower Pizza is an interesting choice too. It's nice to know that Healthy Gains and Panaderia Antonio Bakery and Restaurant is from the same family that introduced  Plato Wraps, which is actually celebrating 15 years now.

Caffe La Tea branches are scattered all over the Philippines but I've only discovered it in their branch in Arellano Street in Dagupan City. Caffé La Tea is a homegrown milk tea and coffee chain from Cabanatuan City. Now with 10 cafés, and counting. Their Perfect Matcha Blender is really recommended! Made more sinful with Caffe La Tea's signature Rock Salt plus Cheese Pudding! They also have a wide array of pasta to choose from, I specifically liked their Pesto Pasta. What I really liked about them is they are a proud locally made brand with products that can compete globally.

From the same family that introduced Plato Wraps, Panaderia Antonio Bakery and Restaurant located at Old De Venecia Extension Road, Dagupan City offers one of the freshest breads in Pangasinan. Their long experience in producing baked goods is the reason for their quality merchandise. Not just breads because the place is also famous for its Pansit, One Pound Burger and their inviting Pizza which also has an All-Veggie version. They also have Milk Teas too which I loved! I've learned that they have other branches in Robinsons Place Calasiao-Pangasinan, Nepo Mall, Dagupan City, Tapuac, Dagupan City, Magic Mall Urdaneta City and in CB Mall, Urdaneta City.

Bread House Cafe + Bakery is a haven for those who have sweet tooth. Desserts and Cakes galore! Their mouth-watering colorful baked goodies would make you want more. Just like their Tutti Frutti Cake that looks like it came from rainbow, a must have in your IG Feed! I got a taste of it and its heavenly with the right amount of sweetness. We've met the two female owner (a mom and a baker at heart) and this is actually their first venture into food business. The owner said that Bread House Cafe + Bakery is a homemade brand turned into dream restaurant. This cafe/bakery just launched few months ago evident by their cozy and fresh interiors. I loved the design of their place, perfect for the millennials and definitely Instagrammable. They also serve other Filipino favorites like Chicken InasalPinakbet, Kare-Kare & more. The place also offers Merienda Buffet every Mondays to Wednesdays from 2:30PM to 4:30PM for  P220.

This is my second time at Island Tropic located at Lucap Wharf in Brgy. Lucap Alaminos City, I've first tried it during a video shoot with Youtuber Mikey Bustos in Hundred Island. We had lunch in this hotel and tried their seafood offerings. On my second time, they still offer the same taste that I loved. Recommended: All of their seafood dishes! Black Sauce Seafood, Seafood Kare-Kare, Seafood Express and Seafood Chopsuey. This hotel and restaurant is just a few walks away from the wharf where the boats dock before heading to The Hundred Islands, so its also a perfect spot to spend the night or two. Their room rates starts at P1,600 for 2 pax, complimentary breakfast included.

Jam's Food Haus in Alaminos City Plaza Food Court offers the unique Alaminos Longganisa. A friend said that it taste like Lucban Longganisa but for me it's more close with Vigan Longganisa, garlicky and on the salty side. This is the first time that I've tried this Longganisa and I liked it so we came back again the next day to have lunch. On our first visit we tried Ginataang Kangkong (River Spinach) with Alaminos Longganisa and Bangus with Mango Sauce, two thumbs up for this two unique dishes! The eatery doesn't have a Facebook Page yet but you can contact them at 0916-663-3600.

If you have been to Island Cove's Fishing Village of Cavite then you'll have an idea what Ciudad Elmina Restaurant looks like. The place has been featured in numerous local TV shows evident by the huge tarpaulins scattered all over the restaurant. Their "Flying Crispy Hito," "Accidental Chicken," "Pansit," and "Oyster Sisig" is a must try! At Ciudad Elmina, you can experience catching your own meal and having it cooked the way you like it. Ciudad Elmina Restaurant serves fresh seafood and cultured fish. Sir Alvin Fernandez is a hands-on owner, he makes it a point to visit each table of their guest. He even toured us in their old-style Bangus farm, I actually learned many things about Bangus farming that day, the difference of brackish water & more.

Its not everyday that we see an authentic Vietnamese restaurant here in the Metro and in Pangasinan, they have it at Malta Village Tapuac in Dagupan City. Lucky Bà Ngoại's Kitchen#9 introduced Pho-Bo-Ga-Tom, Cha Gio and Nem Nuong Cuon to my palate and it didn't dissappoint. Their Goi Cuon (spring roll with pork, prawn, veggies) is another must try. Their place looks exquisite too, filled with all things Vietnamese they even have nón lá (Vietnamese leaf conical hat) in display which you can borrow for photo-opp.

One of my new favorite place in Pangasinan! Mint Kitchen Bar Karaoke is located at Metro Plaza, AB Fernandez Avenue, Dagupan City. Their 'Boomerang' and "Blue Magic" cocktail and the 'Salted Egg Chicken Wings' is the bomb. I seldom encountered bar/karaoke place with outstanding food but MINT is different. Love their videoke rooms too! Equipped with upscale karaoke system that will make your voice sounds better, i scored 97% actually.

This Filipino restaurant and cafe located at #4 Artacho Street. Poblacion, Lingayen, Pangasinan, features a homey Nipa Hut in their garden cafe for dining. Lingawen actually is the origin of the word of "Lingayen" according to the restaurant manager. Their Kare-Kare & Bulalo is to die for! I liked the presentation of each dishes especially their Pinakbet. Their serve the dish with the whole squash, definitely an IG-worthy meal.

This resto grill located at San Vicente, Alaminos City looks like an antique Filipino house turned into a restaurant. Eliana’s serves an authentic Pangasinense delicacy at the home of the famous Hundred Islands and offers value for your money. Their Pigar-Pigar (deep fried Carabao Beef) and Halo-Halo for dessert is one of the best I tried! Other instant favorites are Bangus Sisig, Duck Adobo, Papaitang Kambing and Native Chicken Tinola. They also offer beers and have a live band every Saturday.

A trip to Pangasinan would not be complete without dining at Matutina's Gerry's located at De Venecia Ext. Road Pantal, Dagupan City. I first tried it during Palarong Pambansa 2012 and saying I love it would be an understatement. Their King Crab is a must try! So, if you are looking for an authentic Filipino seafood dishes, this is the best place to be.

For those curious Matutina's and Matutina's Gerry's is from the same family and the owners are actually siblings. Matutina's is named after the comedienne from the popular 80’s sitcom “John en Marsha.”
