Rainwater Harvesting highlights SM Green Conference in Baliwag

In its continuous stride towards caring for the environment, SM Supermalls will be holding a Green Conference on July 26, 2011. Business partners such as tenants, contractors, suppliers together with mall employees converge at the Cinema 1 of SM City Baliwag.

The annual conference will bring together environment advocates and government representatives as resource speakers. With the theme Green Retail Agenda: Empowerment through Sustainability, this year’s conference will focus on the current climate issues and how businesses can promote opportunities for environment conservation.

To share on Environment Management Efforts of the Provincial Government are Board Member Felix Ople and Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Officer Atty. Rustico De Belen. Also, a discussion on sustainable designs and green architecture will be delivered by SM City Baliwag’s Design Officer, Arch. Karen Pingol.

Moreover, best solutions for agriculture and food crises will be presented by multi-awarded inventor and Amecos Inventions & Innovations President Dr. Antonio Mateo with his Innovative Rainwater Harvesting System. Likewise, East West Seeds Co.’s Rick Reyes will share a presentation on Programs to Developing Vegetable Seed Markets intended for sustainable farming practices.

Meanwhile, Arch. Andrew Cristobal, assistant mall manager of SM City Baliwag will share SM Supermalls’ environmental projects like the Trash to Cash Recycling Market, CFL Exchange Program, Green Bag Promotion, Green Film Festival and Bio Fuel Seminar.
