From April 15 to 17, 2011 a summer bazaar and celebrity ukay-ukay, will happen at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, this is for the benefit of the GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) . Dubbed as "The Heat Wave Summer Bazaar" this will be a sizzling treat of the hottest summer essentials, from swimwear & cover-ups to accessories, footwear and this event will simply feature best summer getaway deals!
This is also the same venue for Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez’s Celebrity Ukay-Ukay, in where the celebrity couple will auction donated pre-loved belongings from their celebrity friends. Proceeds of this event will go directly to GMA Kapuso Foundation for it's Kapuso School Development project (formerly known as Kapuso School Rehabilitation Project) aimed at enriching the quality of education here in the Philippines.

Kapuso School Development (KSD) is a school-based initiative which has goals to foster integral education by providing students of underprivileged public schools with decent and functional classrooms which are conducive for their learning. So you don't just save big on these fashion items, you also helped public school students to have their decent classrooms. With it's vision of “saving education by building classrooms” GMA Kapuso Foundation continues to touch the lives of many, the number of schools requesting to benefit form KSD is increasingly growing as well.
This presents the Heat Wave Summer Bazaar as the can’t-miss event of the season. The Heat Wave Summer Bazaar will run from April 15 -17 at the World Trade Center. It will also feature “My Best Summer Getaway Photo” Contest, Fashion Shows, Sports Clinics, and Demos on Food Treats and Refreshments.
According to DepEd, the shortage of classrooms now stands at 146,946. In response, the GMAKF, through KSD, plans to build or rehabilitate 50 classrooms every year. Let's do our share and support iniatiatives such as this :)
