There’s no excuse for TOMCAT - UST to set aside the challenge of bringing students from all over the Philippines to responsible media use and literacy. As their platform continues to grow, this 2nd virtual installment of Media as Authors of eXperience (M.A.X.) uncovers what potential lies behind the media industry through this year’s theme, #PrimeOfInfluence.

From 2018 up to this day, the event has consistently progressed from tackling a four-part discourse on the transition of traditional to digital media, and now breaking fresh ground on today’s media scene. Although it has always been about the same advocacy on media literacy, Jhastyn Guevarra, the Officer-In-Charge, said “we always come up with new ways on how we will touch the lives of the youth through inspiring and insightful discussions from media professionals.”

M.A.X. 2022 features renowned personalities Jing Castaneda, TOL, and Mariz Umali. The three are set to be present at this one-day event that highlights building a public image and the presence of broadcasting in the current digital reality. “Now that there is a wider call for responsible media production and consumption, TOMCAT - UST brings you to the dynamic world of media through M.A.X.'' Guevarra added.

In this time and age, the media has created a system of dependability among its users. M.A.X. 2022: #PrimeOfInfluence seeks to refine it and unleash the viewers’ full potential through creative thinking and learning communication. ”I think people should watch out for the topics that are to be discussed for this year’s online installment.” the Executive Producer, Angela Aguinaldo, stated in a short written interview. “…the audience gets a sneak peek of how professional media practitioners creatively adapt and find inspiration in producing quality media content in today’s day and age,'' she added.

The event will be open to all media enthusiasts, practitioners, and students within and outside the University of Santo Tomas. Watch out for this highly-anticipated event premiering on April 12, 5 PM, at TOMCAT - UST’s Official Facebook Page.
