NCRPO Chief is Serious in Weeding Out the “Bad Eggs” of PNP

Looks like NCRPO Chief Brigadier General Guillermo Eleazar is really serious in disciplining the police force.

“Sinabunutan, dinibdiban, dinuro, at minura!” This is what Police Corporal Marlo Quibete experienced from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Guillermo Eleazar after he was caught in an entrapment operation because of a recent complaint.

The personnel of the Regional Special Operation Unit of the NCRPO arrested Quibete after he allegedly accepted the P20,000 marked money in front of a fast-food restaurant in Barangay Santolan, Pasig City.

Quibete is assigned to the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) of the Eastern Police District (EPD).

THE “BAD EGGS” OF PNP

NCRPO chief Police Major General Guillermo Eleazar also scolded a cop who was nabbed for allegedly using illegal drugs.

They identified the suspect as Police Officer 1 Ferdinand Rafael who was accused of peddling illegal drugs. A surveillance video also showed that Rafael was using illegal drugs inside his apartment in Sampaloc.

"Sa ating kapulisan, alam naman nila na talagang mortal sin for the policeman na gumamit ng droga dahil ito ang laging sinasabi natin, itong ating internal cleansing, zero tolerance, no compromise tayo pagdating sa droga," Eleazar said on a interview with GMA News recently.

REWARDING THE GOOD GUYS

Sadly, some mainstream media don't report or emphasize the good side of the police force. Some police officers who recently received Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting (PNP Wounded Personnel Medal) are the following: PO3 Christina Villanueva, PO1 Arman Cañezares, SPO1 Jerry Pascual, PO1 Jonathan Peralta, PO1 Marino Dulagan and PO1 Leo Mar Orence.

Among those who received Medalya ng Kagalingan are: Police Chief Inspector Sandie Caparroso, Police Chief Inspector Alfonso Saligumba III, SPO2 Emilio ABoyolen, PO3 Mario Maramag, PO2 Marlon Ico, PO2 Raymund John Sansano, PO1 Eustaquio Nuarin II, PO1 Francis Miko Bose, PO1 Rodel Sibal, PO1 Marvin Fang-asan, PO1 Roy Uanan, PO1 Eddie-son Galpao.

KUDOS TO THE NCRPO CHIEF

It's normal in any country that there will be police officers who will choose the bad side just for easy money and other perks. Good thing NCRPO Chief Brigadier General Guillermo Eleazar will not allow it and he is so proactive in “cleaning” and weeding out the “bad eggs” in his ranks of police.

I hope this will continue for a long time so the community will slowly bring back their trust to the police force. We all know that the PNP has this abusive image in the past, but when the current administration take oath and promise to eliminate or lessen the illegal drug activities in the country it brings new faith to the PNP.

Kudos to the current President for choosing the right guy for this job. I know that this problem is not solved yet, but with all the things and changes I've seen lately, I'm positive that they are on the right track.
