'Trash Drive' Highlights Earth Day Celebration

With numerous PET bottles and mountains of newspapers in tow, Bulakenyos showed how simple caring for the environment is as they brought their household junks during SM City Baliwag’s Earth Day Trash to Cash Recycling Market.

Almost 500 kilos of accumulated scrap materials including cartons, papers, soft drink cans, plastic cups and bottles were collected from the Earth Day trash drive last April 20. A large contribution of the plastic bottles and paper recyclables were donated by the Montessori School of Malolos in Bulacan.

Apart from individuals, the mall is currently collaborating with local academic institutions as well as other business establishments to regularly drop by the waste market and help in the community’s waste management.

The SM Trash to Cash Recycling Market happens every 1st Friday and Saturday of the month in all SM Supermalls branches nationwide.
