SM City Marilao celebrates Pinay Pride

Showcasing Bulacan’s Pride are locally loom-woven Filipiniañas worn by three accomplished women in Bulacan.

Reflecting on the extraordinary accomplishments of women, SM City Marilao celebrated international woman’s month by recognizing and honoring women’s role in the social, cultural, political, economic, and institutional fields.

This year’s celebration was highlighted with an exhibition of Filipiniaña gown worn by Bulakenyas, who greatly contributed in promoting women empowerment and gender equality in various practices, mechanisms and gender-sensitive values. The traditional Filipiniaña pieces were mounted at event center, alongside pictures of great Bulakenyas were also featured to give viewers a glimpse of the triumphs of women in the past.

Gracing the event was Congresswoman Linabelle Ruth Villarica, who gave a few words about the celebration. In her message, she reflected on the achievements and the limitless potential that women of today have reached. She also encouraged women to be aware of their rights as well as their responsibilities.

Activities included beauty and wellness consultation services from Derm Clinic and HBC as well as free spa experience from Nail Corner. Huge discounts from SM Deparment Store were likewise given away.
Women's Month is a global celebration of the achievements of women in the past, present, and future. In solidarity, SM City Marilao joins the world in achieving parity and empowerment for women.
