Imagine Cup 2011: Team PHILIPPINES

Mellie Valimento of Microsoft Philippines emailed me and she's asking for support. Though I haven't meet her yet, I decided to help her again. Just read on to read more details about it.

Imagine Cup is a world’s premier student technology competition. Beginning with local and regional competitions, Imagine Cup 2011 comes to an exciting finale at the Worldwide Finals held this year in New York City, United States. In line with this, we would like to seek your help in promoting our country’s entries to the competition under the Digital Media category.

In the Digital Media competition, teams need to create a web video submission, share it with the world and collect votes. Using the power of the internet to share their point of view, explain, and touch on issues in our global society that relate to the Imagine Cup 2011 theme. The entries will be judged based on video content and on the number of votes they receive.

For this year, two teams from the Philippines submitted their entries for round 1 and in order to for them to make it to the next round (and eventually in the world finals), they need to collect as many votes as they can. To give you a brief idea on what their video is all about, here’s a short description of their projects:

TEAM KISSES (De La Salle College of St. Benilde)
VIDEO ENTRY: Kisses
Their project focuses on the environment primarily trees and its role on the concept of sustainable development. Through the use of social media, we can relate to the world how we can keep our planet clean and green.

Make sure to complete the vote verification so we can make sure your vote counts! Please help team Philippines make it to the World Finals of next year's Imagine Cup. Let's make the country proud by voting for our entries. Please help us spread the word by reposting this. :)
