SM Foundation Assist Typhoon Victims Through Operation Tulong Express

Volunteers from SM Foundation, SM City Baliwag and Marilao teamed up to hand relief bags and water to evacuees of Brgy. Balite in Calumpit during the Operation Tulong Express.

The SM Foundation Inc. (SMFI) in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) aided the families in Calumpit and Hagonoy in Bulacan affected by the floods brought by the recent typhoon. Through its Operation Tulong Express, SMFI’s emergency response to victims of natural calamities, around 1,000 families benefited from the relief operations.

Together with volunteers from SM City Baliwag and SM City Marilao, SM Foundation gave 500 bags of relief goods which contain ready to eat food like loaf bread, canned sardines and noodles. Due to the demand of potable water in flooded areas, the recipients from Brgy. Balite in Calumpit and Brgy. San Sebastian in Hagonoy received a total of 4,000 bottles of SM Bottled water.

A second round of relief operations was conducted on October 8 in other barangays of Calumpit and Hagonoy. A sum of 1,000 relief packs which include clothes from LBC Foundation, SM’s Surrender Your Jeans Campaign, Share Your Extras and Forever 21 will be distributed in still, flooded areas and evacuation centers.
