The world is left in tatters after a sudden, unprovoked and unexplained invasion by aliens, leaving the planet’s remaining human population to fight for survival against the occupiers. History professor Tom Mason has been named second in command for the 2nd Massachusetts, but his real focus is on his three sons, one of whom has been captured by the aliens for an unknown purpose.

While scouting for supplies, Tom, Hal and their squad encounter a gang of marauders determined to get their hands on the 2nd Massachusetts’ weapons. Leading the gang is an ex-con named John Pope, who decides to use his hostages as bargaining material.

REAPER SEASON 2

The Devil’s bounty hunter, Sam Oliver, is back as Beyond airs REAPER SEASON 2 from Mondays to Fridays beginning October 17 (Monday) at 6:30 PM.

At the start of this season, Sam wrestles with the recent discovery that he may be the son of the Devil. But he quickly learns that getting groomed to take over the “family business” comes with a whole new litany of headaches, including a demon rebellion that is now out to kill him, complications with his romantic interests and a demon sibling that is hell-bent on taking his place at the Devil’s side.

DATING IN THE DARK

Beyond also puts a whole new spin on dating, with the series premiere of DATING IN THE DARK, a unique alternative series that asks the age-old question, "Is Love Blind?"

Each week, three pairs of single men and women will move into a house together where they will have the opportunity to date in a completely dark room. After several days of dating in the darkroom, the participants will select the one member of the opposite sex that they want to see revealed in the light and after they see each other in the light for the first time, they have to decide whether they will stay with the person they fell for in the dark, or leave them behind and exit the house. Watch each episode on Beyond every Thursday and Friday at 7:20 PM, beginning October 6 (Thursday).

Among the men are a tutor, an audio-visual designer and a hot DJ from Manchester, England. As for the women, there is marketing manager who usually dates attractive men that are “emotionally unavailable,” an assistant to a design consultant who never learned how to flirt, and a charismatic nanny from Australia.

After a group meeting in the dark room, the opposite sexes return to their sides of the house to assess the personalities they have just met (but not seen). Then, a fun shirt experiment gives daters a little hint about the men’s and women’s style, size and overall personality. The individual dates begin and some unlikely connections are formed, with even some kissing. For added fun, professional sketch artists are brought in, and the men and women describe what they think the person they are most interested in might look like. The drawings are traded, so the women get to see what the men think they look like and vice versa. After several days and numerous dates in the dark, the couples pair off and find their matches. The big moment arrives when they finally get to see their partners in the light. Will looks matter once the couples see each other for the first time? Who will choose to continue dating, and who will walk away, leaving their partner behind?
