FREEDOM IS A PRIVILEGE
SM City Marilao participated in the simultaneous flag rising ceremony in the country. With Board Member Micheal C. Fermin as guest speaker, they gave importance to the privilege that their forefathers had given them. Privilege that should not just commemorated but Filipinos must preserved and protect.
SM City Marilao joins the nations in commemorating the Declaration of Philippine Independence at Kawit Cavite by Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo against the colonial power of the Spain in 1898 through its Independence Day celebration at the mall.
This year celebration marks the 113th anniversary of Philippine Independence and carries the theme “Kalayaan: Paninindigan ng Bayan”, which aims to instill to Filipinos that freedom is the most precious right that their ancestors had given them.
The mall celebration was grace by Hon. Micheal C. Fermin, Board Member from the 1st District of Bulacan and head of the tourism committee of the provincial board, as the guest of honor.
According to the Hon. Fermin, “this celebration doesn’t end by just commemorating this momentous event but keeping ourselves vigilant to those forces that may threat to take the privilege of freedom away from us” he noted.
Assistant Mall Manager Arch. Dang Estrella also gave her challenge to all Filipinos on preserving the rights that their forefathers had given them. “Freedom is a privilege that we must protect and fight for” she said during her speech.
The simultaneous flag rising is an initiative of SM Supermalls and done in all SM malls all over the country including SM City Marilao and SM City Baliwag in Bulacan.
