Listen to "Far Away," another Pop Punk Banger by the 12/21
The 12/21, a Canada-based band comprised of three musically talented brothers, Roman, Rico, and Roque Maceda, continue to make music and express their love for this craft regardless of where they are, with the goal of promoting Filipino culture on the international scale.
Their previous track, "She's Electric," was a preppy banger, and they clearly didn't lose that electrifying mood with their music when they launched their latest single, "Far away," on April 8, Friday. "Far away," written and produced by the Maceda brothers and mixed by Jamie Sitar, is their third song released under Blacksheep Records Manila and Viva Records.
According to the band, they had a different approach to coming up with their latest single. They first wrote the lyrics, then came up with a melody perfectly fitted to what they had already written. After creating different versions of the song, which they produced solely at their own studio, they settled on the version of the song with a slowed down tempo after creating different versions of it, which is highly influenced by Blink-182.
“Our song “Far Away” talks about having uncertainties and doubts in being in a long distance relationship because of not seeing each other for a very long time. Where in the other was falling out of love while the other wants to stay. This song was inspired by people dealing with this pandemic and facing this problem due to not being with each other. “ said Roman Maceda.
"Far Away" is undeniably a pop punk banger with an optimistic melody and a tragic story behind it that many people around the world may certainly relate to. 12/21, the band behind this song, has a lot of upcoming events; check for 12/21 on May 28 on Pinoys on Parliament Conference 2022, a Youtube event to be held at Ottawa, Ontario. 12/21 will also be present at the Manitoba Filipino Street Festival at Manitoba, Winnipeg on June 18.
The band also mentions that there will be new singles and an EP coming out towards the end of the year that we should all keep an eye out for! Not only that, but they'll be joining a current tour in Manila soon!
