QC Ladies Foundation Unveils 'Project Ganda:' A Mural Painting Project Celebrating Pinay Beauty

In a launch attended by Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, Quezon City Ladies Foundation Inc. President Harlene Bautista Tejedor & UNICEF Philippines Ambassadress Antoinette Taus, QCFFI unveils Project Ganda: a mural painting project of Quezon City Ladies Foundation Incorporated in honor of all Filipina. The project launch was held at QCX in QC Memorial Circle and graced by more than a hundred QC Ladies members from different QC districts.

Quezon City Ladies Foundation Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit organization at the forefront of community service in QC. Its more than a thousand strong leadership is composed of women community leaders from all over the City. Its priority projects are focused on health, education, livelihood, issue advocacy and human rights which are geared primarily towards addressing the needs of the City's women and children.

'Project Ganda' aims to paint over the walls of Quezon City, spread beauty through giant murals with valuable messages. For its launching the ladies have chosen the symbol of flower as tribute to different roles that women portray in our society today -from public servants, such as our policewomen and fire women, to those who are facing with daily struggles (patients of breast cancer, survivors of rape) to the most simple roles (mom, women bestfriend, etc)

"We were initially thinking of a beautification project for Quezon City. It is something than can remind the residents and visitors of what ladies stand for. We wanted a big, beautiful statement for women. So we thought why not create a mural that we can donate to charities and organizations or even spread around Quezon City to help remind ladies that they are and will always be beautiful. What initially was a beautification project, became something even greater." said Ms. Harlene Bautista Tejedor, the current President of QC Ladies Foundation Inc.

This however would only be possible if they gather enough volunteers to paint the murals, gather enough sponsors to help ladies produce more art. The event was also made to officially announce a call for volunteers and sponsors to make Project Ganda a real success.
