See The Best of Bulacan at SM's Singkaban Fiesta Celebration

Colorful cultural activities will highlight the upcoming celebration of the Sining at Kalinangan ng Bulacan or Singkaban Fiesta from September 8-15, 2010.

With the theme "Lalawigan ko'y Ikaw, Kasaysayan Mo'y Ingatan, Serbisyo Publiko Iyong Makakamtan", this year's celebration marks the fusion of public service, culture, history and Bulakeños' artistry in the weeklong activities all around Bulacan .

SM malls join in the celebration with exciting events lined up highlighting the revelry of the season in commemmoration of the Malolos Congress celebrating its 112th anniversary after its historic event held in Barasoain Church on September 15, 1898.

At SM City Marilao, the festivity kicks off with the My City, My SM launch in the mall on September 4 dubbed "Meet Me in Bulacan". A tourism campaign for the province, the program showcases the province's magnificent crafts and rich cultural heritage.

The My City, My SM exhibit will run from Sept. 4 to 8 and will feature the oustanding craftsmanship of pastillas wrapper artist Nanay Luz Ocampo and singkaban maker Mang Kiko Eligio along with Puni Art and Buntal Hat weaving. It will also showcase Pambansang.com's products promoting Bulacan's culture through fashion, and the food account of the 1900s from the late food historian Cha Mila Enriquez.

The celebration continues with the Singkaban Fiesta Streetparty on September 5 at the mall parking lot featuring top Pinoy band, Itchyworms.

The Bulacan Private Schools Association will showcase the beauty and brains of the youth from all over the province with the MR. & MS. BULPRISA competition on September 18.

The grand festivity can also be felt at SM City Baliwag which will have its Singkaban Fiesta celebration on September 18 featuring KC Concepcion's mall show.

Capping the event is the Singkaban Fireworks Display on the night of Sept. 18 at SM City Baliwag featuring the colorful fireworks industry of Bulacan. Come relive the wonderful tradition of Bulacan. Visit SM City Baliwag and SM City Marilao this September!
