The Hollywood Records’ artist Selena Gomez has just released her first and brand new solo album, “Stars Dance,” last July 22. It is no coincidence that Selena’s birthday falls the day before the international release date. The 21 year old multi-platinum selling artist is seen partying with her friends and crew on a video posted on her YouTube account -- http://goo.gl/vU69f; backed up by the song “Birthday”, an EDM-inspired track included in her new album.
Aside from album release, the sultry and vampy music video to her second single “Slow Down” was also revealed just a few days before the album debut. The video generated more than three million views since its premiere on Vevo.
“Stars Dance” is Selena’s fourth album overall as she had previously released three albums with her band Selena Gomez & the Scene, which began a hiatus in 2012. The new album counts Britney Spears, Shakira and Skrillex as major musical influences. The album is rooted stylistically in garage house, EDM, and dub step, while also containing strong elements of techno, disco and teen pop genres. The lead single "Come & Get It", released April 2013, peaked at number six on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Selena’s first top ten hit on the chart.
