AFP's RACE with The General's Daughter
The Armed Forces of the Philippines Educational Benefit System Office (AFPEBSO) in partnership with Aldenver Events, Guerilla Race and the production behind The General's Daughter TV series are inviting you to RACE (Run for AFP's Commitment to Education) with The General's Daughter on 04 August 2019 at Camp Aguinaldo Quezon City.
The event is organized by the Armed Forces of the Philippines thru the AFPEBSO to raise funds for the education of soldiers’ orphans. The event will feature artists from the TV Series “The General’s Daughter” as a show igniting a sense of nationalism and a solidified family relationship. This event aims to raise fund for the education of orphans of soldiers who have died in battle.
On 23 July 2019, AFPEBSO held a Media Launch for the fun run which was attended by media practitioners from various companies and offices. There was a Question and Answer portion during the launch with AFPEBSO’s Chief & General Manager, Captain Joy Dave T Gabuelo PN (GSC), Aldenver Representative - Miss Veronica Ramos, and former AFPEBSO Grantee - Miss Madeleine Claire Lacambra as the panelists.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines Educational Benefit System Office (AFPEBSO) prepares for the upcoming R.A.C.E with the General’s Daughter Fun Run on 04 August 2019 at the Lapu-Lapu Grandstand, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City. The R.A.C.E (Run for AFP’s Commitment to Education) with the General’s Daughter Fun Run is a fundraising project of the AFPEBSO which aims to generate funds for the education of Filipino soldiers’ orphans. All proceeds of the event will be for the educational benefits and assistance of AFPEBSO grantees nationwide.
This year, AFPEBSO is partnering with Aldenver Marketing and other companies and institutions to make the event possible. The race is patterned and inspired by the ABS-CBN primetime television series “The General’s Daughter” which is a show that reflects military family’s struggle and love for the country. Some cast members of the show are also confirmed to make an appearance on the event including Albert Martinez, Loisa Andalio, Ronnie Alonte and JC De Vera.
It is part of the fun run’s objectives to make the participants have a renewed sense of nationalism and solidified family relationship after the activity. It is also a way to introduce and promote the Educational Benefit System of the AFP to all soldier’s orphan and other qualified military dependents.
It will feature five run categories developed for different age groups and distance namely: the 10KM (Warrior), 5KM (Trooper - Individual), 5KM (Flight – Group of 4 at least 1 female), 3KM (Candidate Soldier – 15 yrs old below) and 800m (Buddies – 1 adult + 1 kid 8yrs old below).
The activity proper will start at 0600 with 10 minutes interval between gun starts and with the Chief of Staff, AFP as the Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS) during the awarding ceremony. A total of 1,000 runners is projected to participate and each participant will receive medal and loot bag, while winners will receive trophies and special gifts.
