URCC Global unveils its biggest, most exciting, adrenaline pumping fight card, COLOSSAL at the Araneta Coliseum on September 29, 7:00 P.m. highlighted by the featherweight showdown between top Filipino pick Mark "Mugen" Striegl and South Korean fighter Do Gyeom Lee.

The official media launch was held on September 26 at Annabel's where all the COLOSSAL fighters are present. URCC founder Alvin Aguilar and new chairman, Arnold Vegafria also graced the said event.


The intense face off between the URCC featherweight champion from South Korean Do Gyeom Lee and Filipino URCC contender Mark "Mugen" Striegl created a tension as the Korean accuses Mugen of using steroids. The Filipino fighter just laughed it off.

Founded by Filipino Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Alvin Aguilar, the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) started the mixed martial arts (MMA) trend in the Philippines with its inaugural event at the Casino Filipino Amphitheater in Parañaque City on November 23, 2002, and has since become the breeding ground for world-class Filipino fighters who have charted their own respective legacies in the global MMA arena.


This year the URCC marks its foray towards global domination in the mixed martial arts (MMA) scene with the creation of URCC Global, spearheaded by its new chairman, Arnold Vegafria.

Under its strengthened leadership, URCC Global hopes to penetrate the Southeast Asian region and forge long-term partnerships with its Asian counterparts, and eventually assemble a contingent of iconic fighters willing to take on their Caucasian counterparts.

The fight series also features some of the country's best MMA fighters, including four female competitors and a three-on-three match-up.

URCC Global recently honored the country's top celebrity athletes during the first URCC Mall of Fame Awards held last July 31 at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura, Bonifacio Global City.

Among the awardees were Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez (fencing); Makati 1 Rep. Monsour del Rosario (taekwondo); Senator Miguel Zubiri (arnis), and eleven-time world boxing champion Senator Manny Pacquiao (boxing).
