Astronomical Clock in the Style of Communism

In the main square of Olomouc, like in Prague, an Astronomical clock is installed. The Olomouc chimes appeared only a decade after Prague one. However, if during World War II its monuments could be preserved almost intact, then the Nazis opened fire in the Olomouc Astronomical clock in 1945. After the war the clock was reconstructed in the style of socialist realism. Instead of figures of saints and kings on the facade, now there appear the fugues of farmers, athletes, workers of factories, and on the special calendar are marked the dates of the death of Stalin and Gottwald.
