Marriott Manila Welcomes Christmas with Philippine Children's Medical Center
The kids of the Philippine Children's Medical Center take a ride on the life-size gingerbread train parked in the hotel lobby.
Marriott Hotel Manila has been perfecting the art of making Christmas ‘brilliant’ for the past four years since its opening, and this year is no exception.
Marriott officially welcomed the festive season with their Tree-Lighting Ceremony held on November 12, 2013. The focal point of the event was the life-size train made of gingerbread parked in the hotel lobby, which was very fitting for photo souvenirs, and was filled with gingerbread treats. The Christmas carols we’ve grown to love were partnered with the angelic voices of Himig Roseña, the choral ambassador of Colegio de Santa Rosa-Makati.
The distinguished guests who officially lit the Christmas Tree were child patients from the Philippine Children’s Medical Center, the beneficiary of Marriott’s Spirit to Serve initiative this season. Amidst all the merriment, Marriott Manila continued to exercise their corporate social responsibility, introducing to the crowd the stuffed bears for sale at P400 each. Beginning that day until December 2013, the cuddly toys are available for purchase and proceeds will be used to purchase oxygen tanks for the cancer-stricken children.
The momentous event was capped off with a surprise visit from Santa Claus, perfectly portrayed by Marriott’s very own Executive Chef Meik Brammer. All the children happily gathered around him as he gave away Christmas treats, completing the Christmas atmosphere in the hotel lobby.
The season of thanksgiving, gifting, and merrymaking in Marriott Manila has officially begun!
