ANIMAX Carnival 2012 with Alodia Gosiengfiao!
Anime fans are in for a treat as Animax, Asia’s first channel specializing in anime for everyone, is set to bring on Animax Carnival! Held on 9 December 2012 at Robinson’s Place Manila’s Midtown Atrium in Ermita, Malate, the Animax Carnival 2012 will be an event for the entire family.
After great success in Kuala Lumpur and Taipei, Animax Carnival 2012 will come to its third stop in Manila. “Animax is the destination for top anime programs in the Philippines and across Asia. We believe Animax Carnival is an extension of the colorful and fun Animax entertainment experience beyond TV. Fun and engaging, the event will offer something for everyone,” said Ricky Ow, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Networks, Asia, Sony Pictures Television.
A highlight of Animax Carnival 2012 will be the live finals of Animax’s search for its next Ani-Mate TV presenter. Selected from the dozens of local Ani-Mate hopefuls, seven finalists will take to the runway to win over a panel of five judges including current Animax Ani-Mate TV presenter and regional celebrity cosplayer, Alodia Gosiengfiao. The winner will take home Php25,000 cash, be Animax’s representative at events, as well as earn the chance to co-host with Ani-Mate Alodia on Animax.1
Another must-see segment is Animax’s exciting cosplay contest that will bring together colorful local cosplayers donning the costumes of their favourite anime, manga or videogame characters and perform in-character to compete for cash and prizes. As a surprise, Ani-Mate Alodia will also reveal her latest cosplay costume at the event, from one of Animax’s hottest shows at currently.
Attendees can also get to experience being an anime voice actor at Animax Carnival. A special dubbing booth offers Filipino fans the chance to be the voice behind their characters from popular Animax anime programs including Beelzebub, Naruto, Bleach, K-On!, Fairy Tail, and Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan.
Beyond the stage events, all visitors to Animax Carnival 2012 can participate in a variety of carnival and stage games. A return to traditional carnival games, attendees can try their hands at ‘smash the cans’, ‘hook and fish’, ‘tic tac toss’, ‘coin toss’ and popping balloons, with exciting prizes to be won.
In addition, the ‘AniChan Kids Corner’ will delight the younger ones with engaging activities like anime eyes painting’ as well as a manga (comic) drawing workshop for aspiring young artists.
Finally, before leaving for the day, attendees should drop by at the Animax photo booth for a unique memento. Try on different anime-inspired costumes and even get hair and make-up done the Japanese way for a picture to keep.
