SM Foundation Inc. (SMFI) together with SM City Baliwag and SM City Marilao activated its relief operation drive dubbed Operation Tulong Express to help families affected by the recent flooding.
A calamity response program of SMFI, Operation Tulong Express aims to give assistance to calamity-stricken victims by collecting clothes, blankets, pillows, medicine, food and water as well as cash donations from kind-hearted members of the community. Booths located at the mall entrances of SM City Baliwag and Marilao were set up to accommodate generous contributions from customers.
Gathered items will then be turned over to Caritas Bulacan beneficiaries and will also be distributed to heavily affected areas in Luzon.
Last August 7, SM City Baliwag and other SM branches were opened beyond operational hours for customers who needed basic necessities and those who sought an alternative venue away from rain and flood.
