Independence Celebration at SM City Marilao
It was a day of outpouring of Filipino pride as many Bulakeños from this part of the province commemorated the 112th Independence Day anniversary of the country with a heartfelt Philippine Flag Raising ceremony at SM City Marilao last June 12.
Hundreds of mall employees and business partners were joined by active members of the community in singing the Philippine National Anthem led by the SM Department Store Choir held at the front perimeter area of the mall.
Marilao Councilors Alan Aguilar and Andre Favian Santos were present together with Marilao PNP Chief Col. Lailene Amparo and Marilao Bureau of Fire Protection Fire Marshall Marcelo Reginio. They were joined by Ms. Ruth Ramos, Marilao Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer.
The activity was also held simultaneously in all SM Supermalls in commemoration of the historical independence ceremony in Kawit, Cavite back in 1898.
The youth also celebrated Independence Day with original Pinoy music at the Tanduay One streetparty at SM Marilao's parking B featuring the popular Filipino band Bamboo. On Sunday, shoppers likewise relived cultural tradition with the Balagtasayawit Performance by Palihang Hagonoy. The group performed dance, songs, and the famous Balagtasan activity.
