SM City Baliwag celebrates Minasa Festival

Taste the merriment the New Year brings as SM City Baliwag and the Municipal Government of Bustos celebrate “Minasa Festival” with a lineup of events highlighting the history, culture and people of this humble town.

Traditionally held every second week of January, the “Minasa Festival” is named after the town’s famous milk biscuit. The biscuit termed as minasa because of the literal and actual hand mixing and flattening of the flour mixture or batter. This favorite home-made merienda was exclusively prepared and eaten by rich folks and their guests during the Spanish time.

The festivity features a week-long celebration which showcases contests, costume parade, colorful street dancing, local food fair, tourist spots exhibit and a fashion show.
