As part of the nationwide campaign initiated by the Department of Education (DepEd), SM City San Jose del Monte employees took time off from their mall duties to participate in Brigada Eskwela last May 20 to help San Jose del Monte National High School prepare for the start of classes.

A total of 23 SM employees and 30 agency personnel participated and engaged in the school maintenance and repair to ensure the preparedness of the national high school facilities for the opening of the class next month.

Brigada Eskwela is an annual volunteerism effort of SM through the HR Department under the SM Cares program, a division of SM Foundation Inc. that handles the corporate social responsibility programs of SM Prime Holdings. With the theme, “Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan Para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan” different businesses in San Jose del Monte City and local government officials donated and offered their services for the success of this year’s Briagada Eskwela at SJDM National High School.

Along with SM City San Jose del Monte, both SM City Marilao and SM City Baliwag held their Brigada Eskwela in Ibayo Elementary School and Catulinan Elementary School.
