Thailand's HOP INN Hotel, now in the Philippines

Let's welcome the newest value hotel chain in the Philippines! Hop Inn Hotel, a known hotel chain outlet under real estate empire Erwan Group in Thailand, has opened it’s first local branch in bustling and colorful Ermita area in Manila.

The grand media launch was held last week in their first PH hotel located in MH Del Pilar Street in Malate and was attended by the Director and President of The Erawan Group PLC, Ms. Kamonwan Wipulakorn, and Mr. Youssef El Khomri, the Senior Vice President for Hotel Operations.

I felt proud when President of The Erawan Group said that this is their first venture abroad and they choose the Philippines because of the current economic state of the country. She added that the Philippines currently enjoys 6% growth while Thailand is at 3%.

“The country has high potential for tourism in the long term,” said Director and President of The Erawan Group PLC, Ms. Kamonwan Wipulakorn. “We believe that the Philippines will offer the fastest and highest economic growth in the Asean region and through our analysis and market research on the ground, we see very good opportunities to expand in the Philippines.” she added.

The leading hotel operator in Southeast Asia has allocated around 10 billion baht, or about P12 billion, for its 5-year investment plan aimed at further growing its Hop Inn network in the region. 30%  of that will be for the Philippines according to the Group’s president and they plan to build around 20 three-star hotels nationwide by 2020.

The Erawan Group currently operates 41 hotels there, with a total inventory of 6,000-rooms. “Next year, it’s going to be 50 hotels, including two in the Philippines,” Wipulakorn revealed.

By September 2017, Hop Inn aims to open its second branch in Makati City, which will offer 190 rooms. Two more are set to open in 2018: one in Pasay City and another in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The Erawan Group is also looking at other key locations such as Cubao in Quezon City, and Cebu and in Davao.

After the official launch, we toured around the hotel. Hop Inn Ermita has 168 rooms, all spacious and well-appointed. Each is equipped with fundamental amenities to ensure a good night’s sleep. It is a mid-rise property worth P200 million.

Each comfortable air-conditioned room provides cable TV, free high-speed Wi-Fi, a power shower, a workstation, a hair dryer, and many other thoughtful extras. Guests also benefit from key card access, 24-hour service and a parking lot with security.

Hop Inn Ermita Manila is designed for the budget conscious business and leisure travelers. The hotel offers a convenient city location, comfortable rooms, professional service from friendly staff, a secure parking space, and outstanding value for money.
