An Afternoon with Mikael Daez & Benjamin Alves

Had the chance to talk with Kapuso actor Mikael Daez & Benjamin Alves yesterday with select bloggers. The "blogcon" of the two ADARNA actors was held at House of Lasagna at ETON Centris in Quezon City. Though, this is not the first time I'm meeting the two. I first met Mikael Daez at the special screening of Amaya at SM The Block back then, while I first met Benjamin Alves when he pass by at the blogcon of Sosy Girls held at the GMA-7 Compound. A lot of things happened to them since then. Now they are considered as one of the top leading men of the Kapuso Network.

24-year old Benjamin Alves plays Bok and Agalon in the hit fantaserye of GMA, while 26-year old Mikael Daez plays as Falco. Adarna is the story of Ada (Kylie Padilla) who is prophesized to be the most powerful healer in Pugad Sanghaya. As she discovers the path towards fulfilling her fate, she meets three men - celebrity basketball player Migo (Geoff Eigenmann), street-smart kanto boy Bok and fearless warrior Falco – each one needing her in his own way.

ADARNA is set to end next week! When asked what's in store for the series on its last week, Benjamin Alves commented, "May ikakasal. May mamamatay." The  nephew of Piolo Pascual revealed that he wanted his next TV role as a street rebel just like in the story of Pieta. Alves who looks so tanned that afternoon says he's really into sports and want a girl who's into sports too. Mikael Daez revealed that between takes Benjamin Alves would go running or swimming. When asked if they are willing to be a gay couple if ever there's another My Husband's Lover series. "Why not," the two said.

Mikael Daez is really a techie person as revealed by Benjamin Alves. He always brings his Macbook, a variety of smartphones, a DSLR and an Instax camera. That's contrary to Benjamin because he's not really into new technology. Alves said that most of his phones are gifts by people. When asked what does he do when not taping for the series, Mikael Daez said in jest, "Eat!" He hosts a segment in late night news Saksi called  "Midnight Snack", a food-trip segment every Mondays to Thursdays, Since November 2013, it was called under the new title "Midnight Express".
