Disney Magic at SM Bulacan Malls


In the Philippines where Christmas is celebrated the longest, many Filipinos are already beginning to count down the days to December 25.

Leading this Christmas tradition, SM Bulacan Malls officially began its holiday cheers with the launching of SM Supermalls’ iconic Christmas centerpieces. This year, SM Supermalls chose Disney themed Christmas centerpieces, with the magical holiday surprise of Mickey Mouse and friends!

Disney’s all-time favorite – Mickey and Minnie Mouse recently made a debut at SM City Marilao and SM City San Jose Del Monte’s lighting and unveiling of Christmas Centerpiece. Their first appearance in the province of Bulacan drew ecstatic crowd in both malls as it brought cheers and happiness to young and old.

“SM Supermalls’ Christmas Centerpieces are what Bulakeños look forward to as the start of their holiday roll-outs” said SM City Marilao Mall Manager Bernadette D. Velasco. “With our Christmas Centerpieces, we want to enhance everyone’s shopping experience by creating timeless attraction that kids and adults are sure to enjoy”.

At SM City Marilao, a two dimensional enormous life-size pop-up book adorns the 1050 centimeter stretch of the mall atrium. The attraction allows guests to feel the magic as they step into the giant pop up book and walk through Mickey and Minnie’s first Christmas scenes. Decorated with an array of holiday extravaganza, hand-painted seasonal ornaments and more than a thousand twinkling lights; the life-size Mickey and Minnie Mouse figurines and intricately designed 2D story book, along with the 14 feet Christmas trees,form the Mickey and Minnie’s Disney Heritage Pop-up book. Visually engaging the shoppers, Disney characters was converge in a large scale production with meticulously executed music and dance numbers that took shoppers to a magical journey during the launch.

Meanwhile, the 13 by 13 meter interactive Christmas display highlighted SM City San Jose Del Monte’s Christmas display. Festively decorated at the mall atrium, SM City San Jose’s Christmas Centerpiecedrew inspiration from the classic Mickey and Minnie mouse comic story board layouts. Shoppers enjoyed having their pictures taken with life size comic book series that feature Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The attraction is also complemented by 24 feet Christmas tree and life size comic books.

At SM City Baliwag, Olaf comes to life as the mall brings the magic and fun of winter with their 27 meter Christmas attraction. The mall’s Christmas centerpiece is inspired by the 2013Walt Disney hit movie, Frozen. Highlighting Olaf’s frozen adventure, the snow village contains life size sleigh, a snow castle, and a 24 feet Christmas tree. The unveiling includes performance that features favorites from the Disney film and culminates in Queen Elsa where she where transformed the castle into a glimmering ice palace for the holidays.

Because Christmas is about bringing back and sharing love and compassion, gift giving to the underprivileged children and launching of Bears of Joy also highlighted the Christmas launches. SM encourages shoppers to put a smile on children’s faces by purchasing the SM Cares Bears of joy for only P200. Shoppers get to keep one bear and donate another while proceeds together with the bears will be donated to charitable institutions nationwide. With the unveiling of the Christmas Centerpieces, SM Bulacan Malls in Marilao, Baliwag and San Jose Del Monte will stir up festive happenings on the next few weeks with dazzling entertainment, spectacular fireworks, holiday performances, and special Christmas activities that will surely thrill shoppers;young and old.
