League of Corporate Foundations Unveils 2017 Expo

League of Corporate Foundations, the premiere association of corporate social responsibility organizations which help promote and implement strategic and sustainable social development programs throughout the country recently held a press launch at Villar SIPAG Laurel House to announce its highly anticipated annual expo and conference for the year with the theme, “Disrupting For Social Good.”

Present in the said event is former Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Gina Lopez as the guest of honor. This year's expo will challenge the status quo and seek new ways on how companies can work together for the common good.

“Today’s disruptive environment is reinventing how businesses operate and how its workforce responds to shifts in preferences and expectations of their engaged stakeholders. Leaders of every industry should know how to respond and keep pace with change. Behind every challenge is an opportunity,” said LCF chair Roderick F. De Castro in a statement.

The 2017 conference will be held on July 19 at the Dusit Thani Manila Hotel in Makati City, with a roster of esteemed guests and key resource persons from around the globe. The keynote speaker is Dr. Wayne Visser, the director of think-tank and media company Kaleidoscope Futures and the founder of CSR International, now known as SSR International (Sustainability and Social Responsibility International). Dr. Visser will share his expertise in developing strategies for CSR and sustainability for some of the world’s largest brands and organizations.

A plenary session on new models for CSR will be tackled by Rommel Benig, president and CEO of Green Antz Builders; Prof. Nieves Confesor of the Asian Institute of Management; and Dr. Urooj Malik, chairman and CEO of Hineleban Foundation. Another plenary session on innovative disruptions will be tackled by Bai Rohaniza Sumndad-Usman, founding president and executive director of the Teach Peace, Build Peace Movement along with Indira Kartallozi, director of Kaleidoscope Futures and founder of Migrant Entrepreneurs International UK.

Afternoon activities include a workshop tackling “Creating Innovative Solutions to Societal Issues” in the industries of FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods), health, finance, power and utilities, and education, capped with the launch of the Youth Disruptors for Social Good competition, a program to inspire and empower young people to develop and create social innovations or sustainable CSR projects supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
