Donate Books this Summer at SM

SM Foundation Inc. brings back its Donate-A-Book campaign ongoing until May 20, 2011 in all SM malls nationwide.

In partnership with Bato Balani Foundation (BBFI), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), National Book Development Board (NBDB) and Children International Philippines Inc., the campaign is geared to solicit books and other reading materials from students, book lovers, and generous shoppers for the benefit of many underprivileged children and youth.

Besides the collection of books for distribution to Day Care Centers and barangay libraries across the country, the project also aims to help develop interest for reading, improve functional literacy and enhance comprehension and creative skills of students and out-of-school youths.

This year’s Donate-A-Book media partners from Bulacan are Mabuhay, Metro News Bulacan, Central Chronicle, Bulacan News Catcher, Bulakan Herald, Luzon Times, Luzon Insider, Rekta Balita, Reflector, News Core, Bulacan Express, Broad News, Punla and DWAP 88.7 FM.

Target beneficiaries are the indigent students and youth residing in Bulacan, Benguet, Pangasinan, and Pampanga in North and Central Luzon. Other beneficiaries are from Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Cavite, and Bicol. In Visayas and Mindanao, recipients will be from Panay Island, Cebu, Negros Oriental, Cagayan de Oro, and Davao.

Share the fun and value of reading books and make a difference! Donate books at SM City Marilao and SM City Baliwag this summer!
