BLUSH, The First Pan-Asian Girl Group!

BLOG-PH was one of the lucky few to be invited at the media preview of BLUSH, the first ever Pan-Asian girl group that is set to conquer the music world. This is actually the first time they will be unveiled in our country. The event is held at  Tosca of Dusit Hotel in Makati City.

The newest super girl group is a product of the reality based TV show called Project Lotus, a talent contest aimed at assembling the first Pan-Asian girl group. These 5 girls were selected through a long and arduous process, which involved 2 rounds of auditions followed by an extensive six-week training-and-elimination process held in Hong Kong. Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, in fact, is one of the celebrity judges in the search. The result is a five member girl group which has member from the Philippines, Japan, Korea, China and India.

The host with Jon Niermann, the Chairman & CEO of Farwest Entertainment who answer some questions about the new group. He envision the girl band to "bridge the East with the West through music." He is actually a former Asia-Pacific Walt Disney President and worked in the entertainment industry for 22 years now and is a regional night-time talk show host of “Asia Uncut,” where he won the “Best Entertainment Presenter” award at the 2009 Asian Television Awards.

BLUSH members are: (from left to right) Natsuko Danjo of Japan, Alisha Budhari of India, Angeli Flores of the Philippines, Lee Jihae from South Korea and  Victoria Chan of China.

The girls of Blush are all stand out singers and performers. Blush will sing in English but will also offer their songs in Mandarin, Korean and Japanese.

The group’s first recording was a ballad called, “ Holding On To A Dream” which the girls recorded in Hong Kong with the nine time Grammy Award winning producer/ engineer Tal Herzberg and co-produced by Steve Schnur, Chairman Emeritus of the Grammy Foundation.

The girls are currently putting the final touches on their first pop and dance singles which will be co-produced by Steve Shnur and Darrel Brown. Assisting the girls are also many well-known and highly respected music industry professionals including Alex Guadino, Sander Kleinenberg, JXL, Diplo, Tiesto, Manny Marroquin, Benny Bennassi and Fedde Le Grand.

Hong Kong is Blush’s Asia home. Blush will be performing around Asia until May of this year after which they will spend some time in Los Angeles and star performing in the USA.

Blush is one of FarWest’s current and most ambitious projects designed to be a global appeal showcasing the tremendous tale Asia has to offer.

My fave, 20 year old Natsuko! :) She started dancing at the age of 3 in her mother's own dance studio. Nacho as her friend called her has a dance crew called 'SpongePants' which won many dance competition in her hometown.

South Korean Ji Hae is really a stunner and became an instant favorite of the crowd. She has amazing pipes, too. Of course loud applause when the Filipina girl, Angeli Flores was introduced! The girl from India Alisha, is the most quiet and shy in the group but can belt out when needed. Victoria Chan from China is the big sister of the group. She's already singing at the age of three!

Want to see their performance? I found a Youtube video of them performing two song on the media preview, uploaded by FreeProd2008/Jeman Villanueva.
